All for the Gators, stand up and holler!

So far it has been a crazy and fun Fall Football season here in Gainesville. The last three Saturdays Steve and I have hosted our out-of-town friends to stay in our apartment for game day weekends.  It has been so much fun, but a lot of work for a girl who is interning full time during the week, and Steve who is a full time 3rd year law student.  The Gator games have all been great.  Three victorious games and many more to come! I have been sporting my best orange and blue outfits to show my team spirit.  Yesterday I wore my favorite orange and blue Lilly halter dress that I also wore for my undergrad. graduation in May.  Cute Boy wore his orange and blue Brooks Brothers oxford to match.  We were very preppy gators and our team spirit must have helped us beat those Tennessee Vols in the swamp!  

During my giveaway I was asked to spend more time talking about shopping.  Since I am a professional bargain hunter I'll fill you in some of my best bargains this month.  TJ Maxx is the best place to go in Gainesville for great designer names at affordable prices.  Steinmart has also been a great place for steals. TJ Maxx is my most frequent stop on my afternoon commute home from school.  I have found everything there from Lilly sunglasses ($34) to Michael Kors tops ($8)!  A few weeks ago I bought a pair of leopard print Dr. Scholl's there for $12.99!  Some people might say I have a shoe addiction.  I have an entire closet devoted to my shoes.  So, when I came home with those Cute Boy dared me not to by another pair of shoes for at least a month.  I have held strong and not bought any shoes for the last 3 weeks!  Only one week to go, and you know I'll be at TJM searching for another steal.  I'll be sure to post my next purchase!

Just one more!

Hi yall! 

Just got home from the best Girl's Weekend in Tampa with my 3 best girlfriends from TriDelta.  We have not seen each other in almost a year!!! We had an amazing time- fish bowl cocktails, dancing the night away and then tanning on St. Pete beach! Fabulous! 

Also, last week Cute boy and I moved in to a new a apartment together- Big step, but so exciting! Pictures to come soon.  It has been quite the adventure trying to fit all our things in to the closets here and its a miracle we even have working internet right now! ha!

To race or not to race?

Hi all, 

Just floating around the idea to race in either another triathlon or maybe a duathlon (same thing without the swimming) this coming October.  I have not been good about working out this summer, and I think this would be a great motivator to kick myself back in to gear.  After training for 8 weeks for my race last year I was in the best shape of my life.  Hmmm. Maybe cute boy will even do it with me, I'll have to ask him when he wakes up... 

What do you think? Too extreme?  What motivates y'all to hit the gym?

Home Sweet home

I just returned to Gainesville from a fabulous family vacation in the Florida Keys!   Part 2 of my Summer semester begins today... Wish me luck in my classes.  Also, great news:  I won the lottery for Florida Gator season football tickets! Woohoo! Go Gators!  Can't wait until the season begins this Fall.  Our last year with Team Tebow, should be so exciting!

Summer so far...

Well yes, it has sadly become my signature move to go MIA from preppygator for months at a time.  My apologies, and welcome to all my new followers! I am going to be better, promise! 

I have been a Gator Alum for over a month now! Wow! Still anxiously awaiting the arrival of my diploma in the mail... but school has not been off my mind at all since graduation.  Taking 4 classes over summer is a huge challenge, especially Graduate courses that require a lot of work and research outside of the classroom.  I am certainly going to know more about reading assessment, diagnosis and intervention than ANYONE ever wanted to know! haha. 

In our time outside of school work and internships Cute Boy and I have managed to keep quite busy! Here is a quick pic recap to get you up to speed... 

We have been to baseball games! Go Braves!  

We have gone fishing with the family! 

We have partied with celebs in South Beach! Anyone watch Heros? Desperate Housewives?!

I baked a yummy flag cake topped with CoolWhip, strawberries, blueberries, and sparklers on Memorial Day!

And most recently... Cute Boy and I celebrated 9 wonderful months together! (And Many more to come!) We went to our favorite place with the BEST deserts, Mimi's Cafe in Ocala on Saturday night!

Now back to studying and school work... Wish me luck on my Final Exam on Thursday!

Gator Grad!

Hi Yall

I graduated!!! Yay!!! The Family came up from Palm Beach on Friday and we did a fun dinner at Gators Dockside-all 11 of us.  :)  It was great to show my aunt, uncle and grandparents around Gainesville.  They saw my little house and where my old sorority house is.  They loved it.  Then we made a quick DQ run for a little treat.  Yumm.  I had lots of Gator pride and wore my school colors, orange and blue all weekend.  (Don't think I'm silly, I just loooove my Gators!)

The College of Education graduation ceremony was on Saturday afternoon.  Mom, Dad, Drew(brother) and Cute Boy got up early with me to take some Grad pictures around campus and at the Swamp, our awesome football stadium.  I was hoping to see Tebow while we were there, but no luck.  We got some great shots and had a lot of fun walking around together.  Then we went to meet the rest of the family at the Museum of Natural History, which was right next door to the theater where I was graduating.  It was a perfect morning.  Then after the ceremony we went to my new fave restaurant called BJ's.  We had a delicious early dinner before the family had to get back on the road to get home and I opened lots of fun Grad gifts! You will all love the Lilly Pencils and Notebook that Mom gave me along with a beautiful silver bangle that says, "When I teach I am the best of who I am."  It's beautiful and so meaningful.

And to top it all off, Mom and Dad gave me a FlipMino HD Video Camera!!!! SO Awesome!

It's black and red (Cute Boy's favorite colors!) and comes with a cute little case so it won't get scratched.  The camera is awesome and so easy to use!  The colors are beautiful and the picture is so clear in HD when you view the videos on your computer.  (Check them out at theflip.com ) 

We took lots of fun videos Saturday night when we had a bowling tourney at Alley Katz!  haha.  It was a great night! I looked ridiculous in my Orange and Blue Lilly Graduation dress and bowling shoes!  I am working on learning how to post my video clips to preppy gator... more on that later. :)

Well I wish you all could have been there to celebrate my special grad day.  Hope this was a sufficient re-cap!  Go Gators!

Tomorrow, Cute boy and I are off to Palm Beach for the rest of the week before our Summer sessions start with my classes and his externship in Ocala.

Run, Forrest, Ruuunn!

Hey yall, 

It's a beautiful sunny day here in G-ville.  Hope everyone had a great week, I know I did!  My internship in Kindergarten ended last week so I have had a whole lot of "me" time this week while Cute boy has been locked up in the Law School library studying hard to Ace his exams.  I have been able to catch up on all my fave blogs like  Monograms and Manicures and Puttin' on the G.R.I.T.S.  Yall should check them out.  They are adorable preppy girls who love all my favorite things!  I have also successfully found a pair of Gator Blue peep toes to wear to graduation on Zappos.com!  yay! 

Also this week I have able to get back in a great morning workout routine and healthy diet.  What a great way to start the bikini season!  I love my new Nike plus that tracks my time and mileage on my morning runs.  I like to jog about 2 miles each morning before I come home and work on abs and arms on my yoga mat in front of the Today show.  :)  I love watching Hoda and Kathie Lee to start my day. The Nike plus is great.  When I plug my ipod in to my comp it automatically updates my stats on Nike.com.  Sooooo cool! You can even check them out through my Nike mini (The Nike girl running around on my sidebar).  Anyone who likes to run like I do should get a plus!  It rocks my world! 

Well, I'm off to Michael's to find SOMETHING to decorate my mortar board for graduation day!  I can't believe it's a week away!!! Yikes!  So excited to be Gator Alumni.  (Stay tuned after Grad day for fun Gator Grad pics with Albert and Alberta and my soon to be decorated cap and gown. )

Then, Cute boy and I are going home for a Braves vs. Marlins game after Grad Day!  Go Braves! Check out the adorable Hot Flops (View) Mom bought me for my Bday to go to baseball games with Cute boy!!!  I am a new Braves fan, so let me know where I can get more cute Fan gear!

rainy day

Hi all,

My, it is a terribly rainy day.  Although we were in need of a sprinkle here in G-ville, it has been over kill today! As my 23rd birthday is approaching along with my May 1st graduation date, I have been reflective on my college experience today.  So many great people I have met.  So many great athletic events I have attended.  I am forever a Gator even after I graduate and leave this town.  I love Gainseville, and it will always have a special place in my heart.  Luckily, I am not moving away just yet.  I have another year ahead of me while I complete Graduate School.  

Cute Boy are excited to find out where we will me living in the Fall and are planning are summer schedules.  There won't be much time to celebrate my graduation before classes and work will pick up again.  I will be on the lookout for more babysitting hours over the summer since I will not be able to work in the fall.  I will be completing my full-time internship in 2nd grade! I am so excited! 

Before I get ahead of myself with all my plans and upcoming celebrations, I must find some blue shoes to wear to graduation with my orange Lilly shift dress! I am on a mission... I also need to get decorating my mortar board so cute boy and the family can see me walk across that stage! How exciting!

Avoiding work

Hey yall, 

Spring Break was so much fun, I just can't seem to get back in the school routine.  Cute boy and I went on a fabulous cruise on Royal Caribbean to the bahamas and the keys, which I highly recommend.  It was my very first cruise and we had a great time!  Here are some of my fave pics from the 4 day trip.  I loved working on our tans and getting fancy for the yummy dinners each night.  

Only 3 weeks of my kindergarten pre-internship left!  I cant believe how quickly this semester has flown by.  I have learned so much, and will really miss my students.  This experience has really helped confirm my passion for teaching.  Tomorrow my partner and I will be teaching our final lesson.  Graduation is May 2! I can't wait to make my family proud and call myself Gator Alumni!  I am planning how I will be decorating my mortar board so the fam can't find me at graduation.  Any cute suggestions?  I am thinking an orange and blue monogram will be appropriate since I will be wearing my orange Lilly dress. 

Then, Cute boy and I are going to be here in G-ville together over the summer!  He has just accepted an Internship in Ocala (40 minutes from here) for the summer!  I am so excited that we won't have to be long distance while I start taking my Graduate classes.  I am trying to talk him in to getting us a puppy to keep me company when he is working 40 hour weeks... He said he would think about it.  :) 

I'll let you know if he comes through.  Oh, and my 23rd Bday is quickly approaching as well.  Let the party planning begin!

Long blog break...

 

hi all!

after fining myself in a sick circle of blogs about babies and housewives i got jealous and decided to post to my own blog!  It has been a very long time! 

All is well here in the ville.  Cute boy and i are still going strong... almost 6 months of fun together! We love each other very much and have come to rely on each other for support throughout this rough academic semester. I am graduating in may! woohoo! he is in search of a law internship for the summer, i hate talking about it and don't want to grasp the idea of being away from each other for the summer.  he could end up anywhere, but i will be here taking summer classes to start my Master's program.  

Anyway, Im back! Here are some quick catch-up pics of us from the last 5 months :)

Oh, and Go Gators! We won the National Championship in January.  Cute boy and I have been attending all the Gator Basketball home games too... I had never been to a b-ball game before Cute boy, so this is "our thing" that i love. We have so much fun as Gator fans!
